I thought that in a site
dedicated to Great Russian Voices it would be quite appropriate
to include some of the great choral ensembles. This page is
dedicated to the historic performances of the Red Army Choir
In 1978 the ensemble was renamed after Boris Alexandrov, who
led it for 40 years, from 1946 to 1986.
The ensemble is composed of a male choir, mixed dance groups
and an orcherstra, totalling about 200 artists.
Since its first success abroad in 1937 where it won first
prize at the Paris Universal Exhibition, the choir has performed
in over 40 countries
